Finnish mobile manufacturer Nokia is all set to launch Lumia 920 and 820 in the country at a press event minutes away.
According to Tech 2, the headline for the event reads ‘Are you ready to
switch?’ Previously Nokia had coined #Switch to Lumia as a hash tag
when they first launched the device in New York.
It is reported that the launch will simultaneously take place in New
Delhi and Mumbai. However, Saholic, an online retailer had already
listed the device with a price tag of Rs 36,499.
Lumia 920, the flagship device of Company has a curved 4.5 inch pure
motion HD+ screen. It features a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU
with 1GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and 7 GB storage in SkyDrive for
users. The device has a battery capacity of 2000mAh which is expected to
last for 10 hours with 3G. The Smartphone also features ‘Super
Sensitive Touch’ allowing users to use it with gloves also.
Lumia 820 which is priced at
31,000 has a polycarbonate body with a 4.3 inch screen. It comes with 8
GB of internal storage and 7 GB in SkyDrive. The Smartphone also
supports wireless charging and is powered by dual–core 1.5 GHz
Snapdragon S4 processor with 1 GB RAM.
Meanwhile rumors stated that the Smartphones would support 9 bands
including LTE for High Speed Internet. But the latest description of
Lumia 920 from the official website of Nokia states that the device will only support 8 bands.
The 2600 MHz band has been taken off description. 4G in India runs on 2300 MHz, while Nokia’s Lumia 920 supports 2100 MHz.
