How To Turn Your Android Phone Into A Webcam

If you are bothered with the law quality web cam that your laptop has, than your android phone can come handy to over come it. Here are few tips on using your phone as web cam, as compiled TOI.

(1) There are many apps in the play store for this purpose. Some of them are IP Webcam, DroidCamX Pro and WO Webcam Lite. With IP Webcam free app, you need to install the app and open it up for the initial setup. It comes with the default settings but you can change to suit the need. Set up the required camera resolution, frames per second or FPS rate (the higher, the better), image quality and the TCP port (8080 should suffice). It is recommended that you not set a resolution higher than that supported by the phone.

(2) Set up a user ID and password, for webcam's privacy and security. Enable the ‘start the server’ option at the bottom of the setup page. The IP address in which the camera is available can be seen, with the port that you set earlier. It should be like 192.168.x.x:8080.
